Three ways to make a genuinely great cup at home — each tuned to a different roast and a different kind of morning.

Rich, full-bodied, and incredibly forgiving. The lazy Sunday favorite.
60g of coffee per litre, coarse grind, a 4:00 steep, then a slow press. Batur Caldera shines here — big body, zero fuss, endless refills.
Intense, syrupy, and complex. The foundation of your daily latte.
18g in, 38g out, 27–30 seconds at 93°C. Dial Ubud Nightfall for milk drinks — thick crema, chocolatey, and it holds up in a latte all day.
The Fundamentals
Coffee starts losing aromatics within minutes of grinding. A $30 burr grinder is the single biggest upgrade to your morning cup — bigger than any machine.
A cheap kitchen scale takes the guesswork out of every brew. Coffee in, water out, by weight — it's the difference between 'pretty good' and 'genuinely great,' every single day.
Your cup is roughly 98% water, so filtered water with a little mineral content beats hard tap or zero-TDS distilled. If your coffee tastes flat, your water is often the culprit.
Chasing three variables at once is how you end up more confused than when you started. Grind, taste, adjust one setting, taste again. Patience beats gadgets.
